ASC 2012

May 16th, 2012

Luke and I are in the air making our way home after ASC. It was a good show, although it was also a much smaller show. I can see this growing though.

The keynotes and the breakout sessions were good also. The round table discussions were very in depth and had experts in in each of their respective fields leading the conversations. Much love to Max, I will be following up via email very soon!

In my opinion, the people that were at this event were pretty serious about growing or expanding their businesses. The exhibit area was small and there were a small number of spots available to exhibit. This meant that not nearly as many different companies could set up a table. But, this did allow for an environment that was more suited for talking more in depth about potential business opportunities.

The venue was the Hilton in Austin and the hotel was accommodating and the staff were pleasant. It was also nice that The Hilton is walking distance from most of the attractions in town.

The city of Austin itself is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed being there. The food is great, the people are laid back, and the music scene is insane! I will be vacationing there for sure!

That’s it for this post. Keep checking back for more content!

As Promised, Here Are The Pictures!

May 14th, 2012

Hey everyone! In the previous blog post I mentioned that Chad (PeerFly fearless leader) and myself (PeerFly Fanboi) went skydiving as a celebration of our birthdays. It was an amazing experience to say the least. The rush you get staring down at the earth from 2 1/2 miles in the sky is exhilarating! For those that are interested in going skydiving and are in Florida, I highly recommend Skydive Palatka. The staff was very professional, knowledgable, and fun. They are a great group of people!

So, here are some pics of Chad and I jumping out of an airplane! Make sure to click on the images to see a larger view.

This was by far the best birthday that I have ever had and the experience of free fall will never leave me!

It Has Been Busy Around Here!

May 9th, 2012

It has been a little while since the last blog post. I apologize for that! There have been a few birthdays in the office and then there was the release of the Avengers movie.

Each of these events had it’s own celebration. On Friday the PeerFly staff went to the theatre to check out the Avengers in all of it’s 3D splendor. I have to say that this is one of the best movies I think I have ever seen! If you have not seen it, do it! You will not be disappointed at all.

Then there was the issue of birthdays. Chad, PeerFly’s CEO and fearless leader and myself, Davey, PeerFly fanboi extraordinaire, each celebrated a birthday. We each did the typical cake and ice cream with friends and family. We also wanted to make this birthday one to remember for both of us. So, what better way to do so than to jump out of an airplane!

Now, we both did this for our own reasons. Chad wanted to stare down and conquer a fear that he has had all of his life and I am just a dipshit that has always wanted to jump out of a plane. We planned our jumps for this past Saturday (May 5) and made our way to the jump site with our families in tow. Obviously everything went well because I am able to type this post!

For those that have even thought to themselves that it would be cool to go skydiving I say DO IT! It was amazing! That was one of the most extreme experiences ever.

Now, this got me to thinking about something. The one thing that keeps people from doing or trying most things is fear. Once the fear has been faced and overcome, good things follow.

A lot of what holds people back in internet marketing is fear. Most people do not want to try new and different methods because they have never done it and are scared of failure. Move past your fears, overcome them and see the possibilities open up.

Pictures will be posted soon!

A Few Thoughts On Mobile Marketing

April 30th, 2012

Mobile traffic on the internet is on the rise. Just do a little research and look at the number of new smart phones subscriptions activated each month. The numbers are staggering! What is even more amazing about these numbers is that of those that browse the internet or check their email on their smart phones, the number of those that do not use any other device online is also increasing. In other words the people that ONLY use their smart phone for all things on the interent is on the rise. This alone is proof that mobile marketing is growing and here to stay.

Still wondering how large the mobile space is? Go to a store, restaurant, or any other place that has a lot of people and just sit and observe. You will see almost everyone pecking away at their phones at some point. When people are waiting in line they reach for their phone and check email, Facebook, texts, etc.

Now think about this, let’s say you are in town and need to find out what pet supply stores are around. What do you do? Do you call 411 on your cell? Do you find a pay phone and look in the yellow pages? Hell no! You grab your cell phone and start searching! Most of the times people enter the search terms like this “pet supply store Gainesville Florida”. That’s just a quick hit for those that are helping offline clients come online with a mobile presence. ;)

Couple all of this with the number of services, retailers, and government agencies that are optimizing their websites for mobile devices and you should see why mobile is definitely going to be here for a while!

So, how should you get started with marketing on mobile devices? Find your vertical, find your offer, then find the traffic. Boom! Mobile traffic!

Here is a list of solid mobile traffic sources: Admob, Jumptap, Inmobi, Leadimpact, and Buzzcity. This should be a good start for you!

Now, find your offer and start testing!

P.S.  Jorge, this should help a little! Keep reading brother and I appreciate your comments!

How In The Hell Can I Use Google And Bing To Promote CPA Offers?

April 30th, 2012

Google and Bing do not hate affiliate marketers! They hate the people and sites that are continually trying to game the system and their visitors just to make a quick buck. Anyone who says differently is not thinking clearly or looking at the big picture! Affiliate marketers have paid millions upon millions of dollars to the big search engines to send traffic their sites. The big search engines know this and appreciate and want more of that money. Bing and Google do hate a negative impact on their prime assets, or searchers. They hate the scam sites that offer any value to vistors.

The big search engines are all after one thing: Customer Satisfaction for the people using their service. In my opinion, the goal of all of the Google updates is trying to get to the point that all of the search results bring up relevant websites with the information that the searcher is looking for. So, the days of blasting shallow sites with links and getting ranked on the first page are long gone. Deep, robust, and user friendly site are going to do well.

What does this mean to CPA marketers? It menas that if you want to run traffic from Google or Bing to your offers you need to be a little more creative and diligent in doing so. In order to use paid search from Bing or Google your site needs to be filled with unique, well written and relevant content. Your site should also have the following pages: About Us, Contact Us, Site Map, Privacy Policy, and Terms Of Service. Do not add shit content at all! Spun content, scraped content that is pieced together, and poorly written content does nothing but frustrate end users and will get your site slapped by the very people you are trying to get traffic from. You should have at least 20 – 500 word posts added to your site and a new post up every few days. The easiest and quickest way to set all of this up is through a blog. If you are unsure on how to start up your own blog, head over here: https://peerfly.com/blog/2012/04/so-you-want-a-blog-but-have-no-idea-where-the-hell-to-start-read-below/, I have you covered!

Now, here is where we can tie everything together. Back to the point, how we can make money using paid search from Google and Bing. After you structure your site as I laid it out above, add a squeeze page to a subdomain. For example: you set up your blog on www.mysiterocks.com, you then want to set up a squeeze page on www.mysiterocks.com/mynewsletterisbadass. You can set up your ppc campaigns on Google and Bing and send your traffic directly to your squeeze page. Now you have captured your vistor’s name and email address you can then send them offers over and over via email.

Now you can see how you can still use that ultra targeted, high quality traffic from Google and Bing to market CPA offers. The days of direct linking are gone. Seriously though, if  you are in this for the long run and the big money, building your list is the best way to go. Now, use what is outlined in this post and then head over here: https://peerfly.com/blog/2012/04/275-in-adcenter-vouchers-for-12/. Now you have a site that the big search engines will still love and free money to start sending traffic to your squeeze page. I personally use this method myself and am enjoying the returns that it yields! Drop a comment and let me know what you think!

Spotify Facebook Connect Affiliate Offer on PeerFly

April 27th, 2012

Normally we would not do an entire blog post about one offer, but we is really excited to be able to bring this offer to you, our beloved publishers. The offer is PeerFly Offer # 5253 , Spotify US. Spotify is a music streaming service backed by some big names like Sean Parker (you know, Napster founder, former president of Facebook).

If you aren’t using Spotify, you should be. It’s free to use on your computer, and it lets you play nearly any song by any artist you can think of. Something else I like about Spotify is that you can set it to automatically show what songs you are listening to on your Facebook timeline. The social integration is flawless. Most of the team here at the PeerFly Office use Spotify to stream music while we work.

The Spotify offer converts on super easy registration with Spotify. How easy is the Spotify registration? As simple as a click – Facebook connect and BAM, the user is registered. I strongly recommend you test this offer today. Take Note: almost every traffic type is allowed.

We also have had the Spotify UK  Offer, PeerFly Offer # 4837, for several weeks now and it is performing great for the publishers promoting it. If you have UK traffic or email lists, you should definitely test this. Please reach out if you need further information or would like some suggested traffic sources and promotion methods. Cheers!

Leveraging Youtube For Tons Of Traffic!

April 26th, 2012

If you are not using Youtube to send traffic to your site you are really missing out! Youtube is the second largest search engine in the US. A few years ago, when someone wanted to find something on the internet or to learn more about something they would run to Google, do a search, and be satisfied with the information they were able to find. Now more and more people are doing research on Youtube. Especially for “how-to” types of searches.

With that being said, it only makes sense to grab some of that traffic and send it to your site? It is quick, easy and free to create and upload the videos. After you make a few yourself you will see how easy it is to do this and will be able to put your videos together in no time.

Try this: Select a vertical and then an offer. Then think of what your demo would like to see in a video. (Head over here to get a refresher on how to learn about demographic targeting: Demographic Targeting) Now find some images related to the video that you are going to make and save them to your computer. You can then use a slide show creator such as Microsoft Powerpoint to put everything together as a slide show. Then you can use a free resource such as Animoto to add these slides to a video and also be able to add music. Then upload your video to Youtube. Make sure to use a catchy headline and make the slides in your video relevant to the product or service you are promoting. Include calls to action in these slides also. Make sure to make reference to your site and how your viewers can find your site. BOOM! That si a completed video.

Now, the next thing to do is to share your video across all of your social media platforms that you are a member of. Make sure that you have an account at Pinterest, Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. Share your video and add a catchy little description for it also.

Now, the more videos you make the more of an impact this will have. You should be able to put together a video in around 15 minutes or so after you get the knack of the process.

Add this to your traffic arsenal. Have doubts? Let me aks you one question. What do you have to lose? This is FREE traffic. Give it a shot!
